Mindy Berkowitz

Mindy Berkowitz is an advocate for social justice issues and a career educator. She is an active volunteer at Ashrei’s direct service program- Photo ID and the vice president of the board, leading the governance committee. It is with passion and dedication she guides the organization to promote economic justice in the greater Saint Louis area. Mindy always prioritizes building relationships, inclusion and promoting equity.  

As an educator, she is an active listener and mentor to students and all constituents, she is both strategic and holistic in developing learning methodologies and systems. Her areas of expertise in experiential education and career development were utilized as she held the position of Director of Center for Portfolio Development & Internships, Webster University, School of Communications for over 20 years.  Mindy also served as a director on the board of the National Association of Experiential Education. 

As an advocate for social justice, Mindy dedicates her direct service work to educational equity, racial justice, and immigration rights. At Lolly’s Place, Mindy served to promote advocacy for equity in literacy. She serves on the Refugee Resettlement Project, an initiative of Central Reform Congregation. Mindy is also a reading volunteer at the Life for Life Academy elementary school and supports their SOAR (career exploration) program in the high school.
