We always welcome new individuals to join our incredible team of volunteers!

For all volunteer opportunities, please register in POINT to view and sign up for available shifts.

Volunteer roles in our flagship Photo ID Project include:

  • Application Support Volunteers - Thursdays: These volunteers work one-on-one with program guests to provide financial and logistical assistance for photo IDs and birth certificates during our Thursday clinics (10am-4pm) at the Hub.

  • Application Support Volunteers - Offsite, Weekends & Evenings: These volunteers work one-on-one with program guests to provide financial and logistical assistance for photo IDs and birth certificates during upcoming offsite clinics, and weekend and evening hours.

  • Data Entry: Support this effort remotely by volunteering to enter data into digital spreadsheets/forms; familiarity with Google Suite Apps (Docs, Sheets, Drive) is required

  • ID Pick-Up & Delivery Team: Volunteers will work in pairs to coordinate meeting program guests in public locations or at the Ashrei Foundation’s Office at the Hub to deliver IDs received at the Ashrei Foundation (dates and times flexible)

  • Hospitality: Each week, we provide nutritious snacks and drinks for our program guests; sponsor this with a donation or drop-off snacks of your choice! Take action now by supporting through our Amazon Wish List, our Walmart Wishlist, or donating/sponsoring supplies like these!

  • Attorneys: We're building a statewide team of volunteer attorneys to offer pro bono services only for the purpose of requesting out of state birth certificates.

For self guided Photo ID Project trainings, please visit our volunteer training page. If you prefer a live training, watch our calendar and communications for periodic Zoom and in person opportunities.

Volunteer roles in our Immigration Justice work include:

  • Rapid Response Hotline Operator Volunteers answer calls remotely using a smartphone app, with call scripts and support resources provided. Volunteers coordinate via Signal and submit reports through online forms. Spanish–English bilingual volunteers are required; speakers of other languages are welcome to attend the training and serve in an on-call support role as needed.

  • IFER Fund Volunteers work in teams to coordinate and deliver emergency cash assistance to immigrant and mixed-status families impacted by immigration enforcement. Volunteers use Signal and follow reporting protocols to ensure successful delivery. Bilingual skills are helpful but not required.

For immigration justice roles, please register in the Rapid Response Coalition database at http://bit.ly/STLRRVOLS  to receive next steps on how to train and sign up for opportunities to act.

While the projects above are managed by the Ashrei Foundation, there are many other opportunities to engage in immigration justice work through our partners in the STL Rapid Response Coalition. Please visit stlrapidresponse.org for more information.
